Mandatory Enrollment Update in InfoSnap-Archived (1)

A couple of years ago, particularly last year, the district embarked on its Going Green initiative. A major component of this initiative was for the district to become as “paperless” as possible, which would allow us to preserve the environment, as well as the tax money used to purchase paper and printing supplies. This year, we will take the next step in going paperless by replacing the conventional “paper and pen” registration information update of existing students, which traditionally involved parents filling out a packet of forms at the beginning of the school year and having our secretaries manually input the data from those forms into Power School, our student database; to having you register students in InfoSnap, our new online registration and document portal software designed to import information to and export it from Power School.

 

Therefore, beginning today, July 18, 2015, we are asking all parents to take the time to update your child(ren)’s enrollment information in InfoSnap by August 21, 2015. We have embedded a link entitled “InfoSnap Enrollment Update” in each student’s Power School Parent Portal so that you can register them before the August 21, 2015 deadline. Please note that this is mandatory for all students who will be in 1st grade through 12th grade during the 2015-16 school year and that all applications must be completed in their entirety, including immunization information, by August 21st or you will unfortunately be locked out of the Parent Portal and thus will not have access to your child(ren)’s schedule or bus information when it will be released on August 25th.

 

Within the InfoSnap software there will be business rules which will inform you that once you submit your application, you will not be allowed to make any changes, and that any required changes beyond that point would need to be made by the district. A business rule will also be created so as to not allow applications for 6th graders to be submitted without the completion of all items, especially those pertaining to immunizations. Furthermore, a rule will be created that in general notifies the applicant that there is essential information missing and directs the registrant to go back and complete it. Furthermore, if you do not have access to a device to register your child, the district has set up a small computer lab for parents in the Selover School (150 Lincoln St., South Amboy).
